A Quick Update on My Dad - Jan 9 2013

Thank you for all of your continued prayer and support for my Dad.
He is now done with his Rituxan treatments and is being slowly weaned off the steroids. The Rituxan did not work. The last few weeks his hemoglobin counts have been dropping even faster than they have been, which is concerning.

From my Mom:Bob's Rheumatologist called today and after they run some blood tests on Thursday when he has his transfusion they plan on starting him on the drug below (Cyclophosphamide). They need to get started sooner than his Jan 24th appointment because he is losing ground every week with his hemoglobin counts. Hopefully this one will work without too many side effects. We have to wait for the blood tests though to make sure he can take this drug. At least this is in pill form and he won't have to go in for 6 hour infusions.

Friends, would you please pray about this, that he would be able to take it and that his bone marrow would respond to it?

Psalm 121:1
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
 From where shall my help come?

  2. Thank you Jessica , our prayers continue here from South Africa. Love to all

    Psalms 71:1-14 In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! (2) In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me! (3) Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. (4) Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man. (5) For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth. (6) Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you. (7) I have been as a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge. (8) My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day. (9) Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent. (10) For my enemies speak concerning me; those who watch for my life consult together (11) and say, "God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver him." (12) O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me! (13) May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt. (14) But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more.

  3. Jessica, Praying for your dad. It is difficult, to say the least, to watch a loved one suffer, and for him to suffer, but I know how much more difficult it is when they are not saved, so I rejoice that He knows the Savior and trusts in Him. We are lifting you up in our prayers. Wendy

Your comments are such a blessing to me.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. " Hebrews 10:23-25
